I build church websites on ChurchKit, the open-source platform I wrote to run my own church's site. The website itself is free — you pay whatever you believe it's worth, even nothing (see Pricing). Add-ons like Planning Center sync, YouTube sermons, and a mobile app are priced separately, only if you want them. I also do practical, hands-on consulting for Sunday morning AV: sound, cameras, switchers, and livestream setups a volunteer can actually run.
Get in touchThis isn't Wix, Squarespace, or WordPress with a church theme on top. Those are general-purpose builders, and it shows: plugin bloat, slow pages, and a drag-and-drop editor one volunteer click away from breaking the layout. ChurchKit is built around what a church actually has — staff, ministries, events, sermons, service times — with editing simple enough for church staff and volunteers, and hard to accidentally wreck.
| Wix / Squarespace / WordPress | ChurchKit | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | Blogs and small businesses | How churches operate |
| Editing | Drag-and-drop, easy to break the layout | Structured fields, hard to break |
| Performance | Plugins pile up, pages get slower | Lean by design, stays fast |
| Ownership | Your content, their platform | Your church owns the code, account, and data |
A branded website with pages, staff, ministries, and events, built on ChurchKit — the platform I personally wrote and maintain, not a third-party template. This alone is a complete, working site. Setup, Cloudflare deployment, and domain configuration are included, so your church doesn't need an in-house developer to get it live. The website itself is free — see Pricing below.
Practical help with the Sunday morning setup: audio gain staging and routing, switcher workflows, camera placement, and a booth layout a rotating volunteer crew can run — without buying gear your church doesn't need. On-site visits for churches in the Leeds/Birmingham, AL area; remote consulting over video call for everyone else. Priced with a custom quote based on your setup and how much time it takes — ask when you reach out.
The website itself is free. The only thing I can't cover for you is your own domain name — that's a small fee you pay directly to a registrar, not to me. Add-ons and AV consulting are priced separately (see below).
There's no invoice and no required fee for the website build. After the site is live, you decide what the work was worth to your church and give that amount. If that's nothing, that's fine — the offer doesn't change.
Whatever you choose to give, half of it goes directly to Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Leeds, AL — the church I built ChurchKit for in the first place, and where I still serve as the volunteer technology leader. This isn't a platform fee routed through me; it's a gift passed on to the church that made this possible.
I believe this is a gift God gave me, and I feel led to use it to help small churches get a website that actually works, without it costing them a budget they don't have. Charging full price for something I can give away didn't sit right with me — so I don't.
A quick gut check before you reach out.
None of these are required for a working site. Each is a switch you can turn on later, only if your church wants it — and since I built ChurchKit myself, nothing is locked down. Whether you don't use Planning Center, rely on a different ChMS, or prefer another video host, everything can be customized to fit what your church uses. Unlike the core website, add-ons aren't free — each one is a custom quote based on the work involved, discussed when you reach out.
Connect the site to the Planning Center data your staff already keeps current — services, groups, and giving — instead of a second system to maintain by hand. Don't use Planning Center, or use something else entirely? I can build a custom integration for whatever system your church runs on.
Pull sermon video straight from your church's YouTube channel onto the site automatically, with no manual uploading or re-hosting.
An iOS/Android app for your church — sermons, Bible, check-in, giving, and push notifications — built from the same ChurchKit platform as the website.
The code, the Cloudflare account, the domain, and the data all belong to your church outright, not me. No vendor lock-in, no hostage domains, and no mandatory monthly retainer.
I can build the site, hand over full ownership, and step away — that's a complete engagement on its own. If you'd rather not handle updates and hosting yourselves, I also offer ongoing maintenance. Either way works; it's entirely your call.
The website build itself is free (see Pricing). Owning it outright means a few small bills still come directly to you, not through me:
You won't be handed a pile of logins and left to figure it out. I set up each account with you — Cloudflare, your domain registrar, anything else — and explain exactly what you're paying for and why, before you pay it.
I'm Blake Nolen, a software developer by trade. Faithful Path Consulting is a sole proprietorship offering church websites and Sunday morning AV/livestream consulting, with sites built on ChurchKit, an open-source church website platform I wrote and maintain.
I'm the volunteer technology leader at Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Leeds, AL. ChurchKit wasn't built as a product first — I wrote it for Cedar Grove, to run our own website, admin panel, and mobile app, while serving our church. It's been running in production there, not as a demo, the whole time — see it at cedargroveleeds.org. The AV consulting comes from the same place: running our own booth on real Sunday mornings.
I believe the ability to build this is a gift God gave me, and I feel led to use it to help other small churches the same way it's helped mine — which is why the website itself is free, and why half of whatever a church chooses to give goes back to Cedar Grove.
My wife Erica works alongside me on look and feel, so sites come out polished, not just functional.
Interested in a church website or Sunday AV help? Email me directly — tell me a bit about your church and what you're looking for, and I'll reply personally. For AV consulting, let me know if you're in the Leeds/Birmingham, AL area (I can visit on-site) or elsewhere (we'll do it over video call).
